SYNOPSIS
Segunda parte de Los pilares de la tierra, aunque la trama transcurre dos siglos después en la misma ciudad, Kingsbridge, y los personajes anda tienen que ver con los de la anterior novela y serie. Ken Follet (Cardiff, Gales, 5 de junio de 1949) está especializado en novelas ambientadas en el Medievo y se puede considerar un gran erudito del tema.Parte de la trama está ubicada en la Peste Negra que asoló Europa en el siglo XIV. La peste negra o muerte negra se refiere a la pandemia de peste más devastadora en la historia de la humanidad que afectó a Europa en el siglo XIV y que alcanzó un punto máximo entre 1347 y 1353; se estima que la misma fue causa de muerte de 25 millones de personas (aproximadamente un tercio de la población del continente en aquel entonces).
